If you’d like to experience the flair of this legendary sports city in the most authentic way, then be there at the annual Hahnenkamm race at the end of January. Lake Achen, also known as the "Fjord of the Alps" because of its beauty and grandeur, is only 45 minutes away by car. It is the largest lake in Tyrol and offers numerous sports facilities. Sailors and surfers refer to Lake Achen as the Tyrolean Sea because of its size and optimal wind conditions.
